"My son Bill, who has been my chief support since losing my husband of 58 years this past May,
wanted to give me the gift of sharing the companionship of his dog Meat for the holidays, as he was
going to be out of town during that time. Meat is a big dog, 90 pounds, and since I am 79 years old, I
would be unable to walk him. I believe I had an angel on my shoulder when I read about Bloomington
Pet Pals. Bill made the arrangements and Ann Wesley walked into our lives. She not only walked Meat,
but provided a shoulder for me to cry on. Christmas passed before I realized it was over and thanks to

dog, Franklin, who was after all our “grand dog”. We soon learned we needed assistance in caring

filling in when we are unavailable. She has become a friend of Franklin’s and our family. He is
always delighted to see her. They have wonderful walks together and we receive a report card
